bed bath & beyond executive has died after falling from an nyc building

A top executive at Bed Bath & Beyond died last week, just two days after the home retail giant announced a new round of store closures and layoffs as it works to recover from a slump in sales.

The company confirmed on Sunday that its executive vice president and chief financial officer Gustavo Arnal died on Friday.

Gustavo Arnal, 52, the chief financial officer of the beleaguered home goods retailer Bed Bath & Beyond, died on Friday.

He was brought on to help stabilize the company in 2020, as it needed to ramp up its offerings to meet shopper demand in a retail sector disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.

The chief financial officer of Bed Bath & Beyond died in what the company describes as a "shocking loss."

A man who jumped to his death from a high-rise apartment in Manhattan has been identified by the New York City Police Department as Gustavo Arnal.

A law enforcement source told CNN Arnal is the chief financial officer of Bed Bath & Beyond. They said he died after jumping from the 18th floor balcony of his high-rise apartment.
